Producer Joshua Donen settles into a modern spot in Los Feliz

A few months after selling his Midentury Modern home in Malibu, Joshua Donen has opted for something a bit more up-to-date. The “Gone Girl” and “House of Cards” producer has paid $1.85 million for a contemporary-style house in Los Feliz, records show.

Terraced gardens and a wood-lined garage separate the estate from the street. Double entry doors open to 2,180 square feet of white-walled and hardwood-lined living space.

A floating staircase divides the family room and living room, which boasts a slate-gray fireplace. On the main floor, there’s also a dining area, an office nook and a chef’s kitchen with herringbone tile backsplashes.

The master suite — one of three bedrooms and three bathrooms — opens through French doors to a private balcony with city light views.

A swimming pool, spa and outdoor kitchen are found in the landscaped rear patio.

Donen produced a few films in the 1990s, such as “The Underneath” and “The Great White Hype,” before expanding to television, where his credits include “Legend of the Seeker,” “Spartacus” and an episode of the Netflix series “Mindhunter.”
