A newly built Mediterranean mansion on Robin Drive is the latest to list in the Bird Streets. Developed by former Grand Prix motorcycle racer John Kocinski, the home is on the market for $30 million.
Richardson Robertson III designed the stylish Hollywood Hills West estate; he also handled the Fleur de Lys, a 45,000-square-foot mansion in Holmby Hills that sold for $102 million five years ago.
A porte-cochère fronts the property, leading into a private flagstone motor court that provides 125 feet of separation between the street and the arched double-door entry. In 9,000 square feet, the home holds four bedrooms, eight bathrooms and bright living spaces bathed in oak and marble.
Five fireplaces with hand-carved mantels are spread across the interior. Highlights include a family room full of built-ins, a living room that opens to a deck, a library, a movie theater and a wine cellar.
In the master suite, four sets of French doors open to a balcony with city light views. The flagstone continues onto the patio out back, surrounding a swimming pool.
Kocinski raced from the late ’80s into the ’90s, winning a Grand Prix World Championship in 1990 and a Superbike World Championship in 1997.
